A long habit of doing things differently.
My working life has never followed a straight line. It has spanned entrepreneurship, digital and business education, short-term rental and hospitality, alternative schooling, self-directed learning, community-building and a long-running experiment in designing family life around freedom rather than convention.
Along the way I’ve started things and shut them down. I’ve built businesses meant to create freedom and then watched them quietly demand more of me than the job I’d left. I’ve made real mistakes, changed direction publicly, and learned, slowly, that the systems we treat as permanent are almost always just someone’s old decision that no one has revisited.
That’s the thread that connects everything I do now. I’m not here as someone with all the answers. I’m here as a writer, editor, interviewer and synthesiser of ideas, whose main qualification is a stubborn refusal to accept that the way things are is the way they have to be.
